Standby... please

. . . Folks, it's been a while, I know . . .
I haven't been able to keep up posting here for some time.
Exams and other college and work tasks are occupying just too much time. Since I'm coming nearer to my finals, I had to choose making this my no.1 priority.
But it's not much longer till I'm going to be through with that and will finally be able to catch up with blogging. (YAY)
Soooo looking forward to it! ^-^
Hope you're going to stick around and come back to my blog from time to time in the next week(s).
I promise there will be news! ;)

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I appreciate your patience! =)
LOVE,
Tiki

P.S.: To give you a visual idea of how even the free-time sunny Sundays are spent in front of the laptop :. . . (It's looking nicer than it feels, working and learning when the weather actually screams for swiming pool and barbecue with friends...)

...back in the house, yo!

Oha, Aloha dear readers! ^-^//
whew... It's been way too long since my last activity here.
Life as an architecture student in the last remaining semesters - plus work and personal issues - has kept me from exposing output on this site for the past few months.
But as my blog is rather thin and new anyways, you might not even have noticed it. ;)
However - I've been through a lot of stressful, yet creative and inspiring phases within the last half year. All that creative fuel I soaked up during that time only bloated my ephemeral Pinterest boards to an extent I kinda lost control of. *lol* ...somehow it had to transpire, I guess. ;b

But now I'm keen to start it all over again here on this wonderful Blogosphere platform.^--^
(being a helpless dreamer with a wandering mind, unguided discipline has never been my strong suit) ~.^
So I decided to try forcing myself into some kind of start-up routine to stay consistent with posting.
I've seen other bloggers scheduling a certain topic to post about on a regular basis, like 'Color Friday' or some sort of theme-days.
I've sketched a lot of ideas today on when, what to post. But I think I need to develop it further on the go. For now I'm only (quite) certain, I want to have one day for posting something I made or at least a sketchbook sneak peak to keep myself productive.
That's going to be the MONDAYmakings and I hope to be able giving it a starting shot tomorrow! =)
Moreover I'm considering a MidweekColorSplash and WeekendReflections on Sundays. Of course there needs to be an Architecture day and one for Tiki-style & Polynesian Pop themes! yay!!!
But I still need to figure that out... ;b

Let me know what you think! ^-^
Got any good ideas to share, or a wish, on what I should post frequently?!

Wishing you guys a great rest of the weekend!!!

Huh, what?! DIYary?...

or: an Introduction

Though I happen to be an architecture&design student, I find myself still quite far from being a professional crafter.
So I thought ..well, wouldn't it be kinda strange to start acting like a tutor here?
Here in this huge web-world, that's packed with skilled experts in just about every topic and niche…
' How could I dare teaching anyone anything?!...'
For I, myself are still a regularly peeking DIY-tutorial-student!

But then,… that thesis came to my mind, that I'm actually somehow incapable of doing things exactly how they are described anyways.
Seriously, I got some issues there…
It's just a quirky fact, that I really seem to be off my head when it comes to recipies and similar guided instructions! Something inside me vehemently strives against it... and thereby against my will, too.

So I regularly end up making things by my own Trial&Error and succumb to the force to take various, often painfully idle alterations, no matter how great the tutorial …
(making me also an unbelievably bad cook and forced-to-eat-my-food-aloner)...
No matter how much I really want to make that [bag/crochet/papercut/print/cake/drink..etc.] e x a c t l y  how they show it (for it looks just wonderful!), I just can't!
'..whoops!' I go, and find a handful of frozen raspberries in my glass of  "Caipirinha" that I was just happy to have ready to serve… 'Damn, who did that?! =/' …
I don't know if there's someone out there, who might recognize this pattern..
-- if so please mail me! Maybe we can start up a self-help group ;) --

Now, taking into account that - as in case of the raspberries! (try it!!) - these alterations do sometimes bring out splendid results, I thought I could maybe make something like a DIY-diary of my trials through creative crafting. ('hey, wait: DIYary! nice…')
I'm not sure how far, or actually IF this will significantly differ from a DIY tutorial anyways, but I'm pretty sure  I'll make mistakes during the documentation of things, and also (definitely) change my mind at the very doing moment more than once… and this, I'm going to let you see and maybe be warned better to avoid producing a mess like I'll certainly do.

     So… long story short: ^-^
What you can expect from my DIYary pages will be roentgenized trial to (hopefully) nice & beautiful  "stuff" that bring a little more fun into everyday life. ^-^
There will rather be craft-storytelling, than before-after short-cuts. (Though I might give those, too, for those with short time or temper;)
I will (not on purpose) make mistakes here and there for you, so that you can do it right in the end. ;)
Meaning that I'll hide no accidents, slips or faults from you, and try to share my experience and thoughts about it as good as I can, giving tipps, tricks and suggestions on variations, too. ^-^

     Hope you're gonna enjoy it.

...to be continued

Though my blog here is very young and there might be not a single regular reader just yet, I want to state briefly, why there have been no recent posts for the last 10 days or so. I'm currently stuck deep in my semester-ending exam phase and really busy&stressed with that right now. But I think by the time of the upcoming weekend, I'll go into posting here again. I plan to finally bring my first DIYary share on then! =)
I'm really excited already... So if you like, check back in on the weekend! ^-^//
Cheers,
Tiki

my intentions...

the office
oh, Hi there! (^-^)//

So you stumbled upon my Blog thingy. How swell!
Reading this here means you want to know what's going on at this page..or with me, right..
hm, let me try to give a brief explanation then.

In short:
I'm a student of Architecture & Interior Design with a huuuuge passion for Colors and everything Creative, Fresh and Life-styling.

Crafting and Creating are my imperatives. Therefore you'll find a lot of tips and projects posted here whenever I find the time to make something.
Also, I have thing with trying to systematically improve and tweak just about everything life relevant -
from Artwork and Attitude, over Housing, Learning, Nutrition, Organizing... to Zen-converting life approach.

So this site is simply for sharing my Finds, Makes, Diys and Research with YOU! =)

In detail:
So, although time is a rare good, I'm starting this here after several years of too-much Interwebs presence anyway.
The most important reason for this blog is my passion for art handicrafts and tinkering, that disturbs even the most stressful exam-learning-times, making it hard to keep up priorities when being obsessed by a new crafty-idea again.
If I were free to do so, I'd sooo love to make things and art all day! =)
But one problem is the time and the other is, that even when I find some time, I often lack the final kick to start a project, because I've got a painfully purpose-aimed mind.
That means when I don't really see a use or function for anybody else than myself I'm kinda tied up in this idea, and it's most likely to stay just that: an idea only.
Thus with a mind stuffed with the urge to work off these growing amount of ideas..well concentration and daily life ain't easy to handle. :/
Craft-enthusiast might know what I'm talking about. ;)
Nevertheless, as soon as there's the opportunity that an idea could give someone else an advantage, I'm totally be able to go for it with all my heart and joy!=)
That way I've made a lot of handmade presents for family and friends.
Handprinted Shirts for my brothers, decoupaged books, clocks or boxes for my mom, cushions
for friends, drawings for my dad, etc.etc…
Sometimes I keep stuff, when it's been just test-crafts or customizations. But that's not the goal.

So here's the thought:
In need for a way to get myself more crafty again and live out the ideas for the sake of more balance in my head, I'm gonna dedicate this blog a DIYary.
I'll try making documentations of tinkering stuff, share my experience and - if good enough - sell the endproducts in my DaWanda shop (wich is like Etsy, just that it's based in Germany).

Another purpose of this blog is simply sharing inspiration!
(Actually in my family it seams there's some kind of rare genetic "disorder" going around, we call "der Stieg'sche Zeigezwang!" [zeigen=to show/share ; zwang=compulsion/force]. ;)
My brothers, as well as myself and even my mom regularly go through phases of wild enthusiasm about random current obsessions or excitement about any discovering so much, that we just can't help but run around telling people about it to share our joy. )

Looking, researching, sharing stuff on various www-communities became (intended or not) a regular feature of my daily life wherever I could press it in.
Being a student of Architecture & Interior Design, I'm kind of addicted to anything possibly inspiring and creative. Combined with my uncontrollable curiousness for the world, arts, people, science and philosophy I just can't stop excessively researching ever-new topics in this endless ocean of information called The Internet.
So over time I grew a monstrous amount of bookmarks and picture-folders, trying to keep
up organizing them in useful order.

But now, what to do with all this inspiration and tips!?

Besides the studies, a part-time job and household to care for there's never enough time to use/memorize all those tips, thoughts and ideas.
Therefor I'll try to feed this blog with all those treasures so that they may have a purpose for
passer-byes and friends (to be).^-^
